Saga is a 1962 Allied Seawind cutter-rigged ketch. She was designed and built to be an ocean-capable world cruiser. A sistership of mine, also a 1962 Allied Seawind, was the first fiberglass boat to sail around the world.
I became the proud new owner of Saga in June, 2011 and immediately moved aboard her. She was in very good condition when I bought her, but even still, she needed a lot of T.L.C. and many upgrades and modifications to have her suit my needs. I have put a lot of time and effort into Saga, but I don’t want to burn myself out, so I spend as least as much time cruising on Saga as I do working on her. I am as happy as I could be with my boat so far.
